The proper Driver set up is crucial to achieve a given players maximum distance potential. Only by achieving certain launch, backspin and ballspeed characteristics can we maximize a given players swingspeed. Of course distance is only good if it can be directed. Our fitters will determine which loft, lie-angle, club-length, head-weight, swing weight, shaft flex, shaft profile, face-angle, spin-bias and head design enable you to hit your straightest, most consistent shots.

NYGC uses the latest diagnostic equipment and advanced launch monitor analysis to measure a player’s current Driver and identify their individual launch conditions. An extensive interview is conducted to determine a player’s tendencies, preferences, goals and expectations.

During the fitting, a player’s swing speed, ball speed, launch angle, trajectory, ball flight, spin rate, length of carry, angle of descent and overall distance will be measured and analyzed. Our expert fitters will determine what club length, club weight, swingweight, head design, loft, face angle, shaft flex and shaft model(profile) perform best for each individual golfer.

Players will audition a recommended series of head/shaft combinations using our proprietary NYGC Fitting carts. The collected Launch monitor data will clearly demonstrate the effects each change has on launch conditions and will accurately determine what benefits can be achieved.

This information enables us to build or retrofit each golfer’s equipment to their personal specifications allowing them to reach their maximum potential.

Our Top of the Bag fitting covers all of your needs between the driver and the longest iron you carry. With so many options for fairway woods, hybrids and utility irons the task of finding the right combination can be a daunting task. We find that many golfers have 2 clubs that go virtually the same distance or clubs with huge yardage gaps between them. Our fitters will determine the proper spacing for each player and will establish which type of club (fairway, hybrid, utility) works best for their individual swing characteristics. We will then optimize the launch conditions of each piece to insure maximum performance.

A well fit set of irons will offer its owner consistency of flight, consistency of distance, proper yardage gapping and the greatest distance possible while still maintaining stopping power. Our fitters will work with each player to identify the proper balance of forgiveness and workability needed by each individual golfer assessing both their optimum flight characteristics as well as their on course needs. Determinations will be made as to which loft, lie-angle, club-length, head-weight, swing weight, shaft flex, shaft profile and head design will enable you to hit your straightest, most consistent shots.

The putter is the club which accounts for more strokes per round than any other club in the bag and yet it is a component which is often overlooked by recreational players. Our putter fitting process uses the SAM PUTTLAB to analyze a player’s stroke and consistency. A player’s aim, path, face angel, rotation, angle of attack, shaft lean, lie angle at impact and tempo are all measured. Using this information our fitters will determine a proper head style and neck for each player’s unique stroke. At this time a proper length, weight and lie angle are also determined. After making these determinations a selection of putters fitting these characteristics are auditioned and tested to confirm that gains have been made. Our custom build shop will then set up each putter with the proper weight, lie angle, length and grip to insure each player has the best chance to hole more putts.
